AlgoQuirks is a platform which publishes source code of algorithms that are known to produce an unexplained, unexpected, or emerging result, that we shall call informally a quirk.
Each quirk is documented with a short description of the algorithm and comes with an implementation and data. We follow the principes of Reproducible Research and Replicability, as any of the source codes published declares exactly the dependencies and execution environment, and the documentation is as complete as to allow users to obtain an equivalent implementation from the pseudocodes.
Our methodology is the scientific method, a each submission is reviewed by at least two referees before acceptance. The review reports are public.
Unlike most conventional journals, AlgoQuirks does not necessarily publish complete scientific articles containing elaborated introductions, review of the literature, or systematic comparison with the state of the art. The role of AlgoQuirks is to focus exclusively in the description of the emerging phenomenon or unexpected behavior along with a fully reproducible implementation.
Launching
The platform will launch on June 1st, 2026.
